Multiple professional troupes perform in our school, providing students and teachers with an art feast

From November to December 2018, the Youth League Committee of our school organized the “2018 Campus Culture and Art Festival: Elegant Art into Campus.” Three professional troupes were invited to provide three artistic performances in the Students’ Activity Centre, including “Funding Education, Invigorating Youth: Performance of the Spiritual Voice Art Troupe,” “Colorful Seasons: 2018 Cultural Series Activities for Public Good—Guangzhou Acrobatics Gala,” and “Guangdong Provincial Educational Bureau 2018 Elegant Art into Campus Series Concert: ‘Your Name: I Love You, China.’”

On November 9, the Beijing Spiritual Sound Art Troupe of the Handicapped provided the spiritual sound art performance themed on “Funding Education, Invigorating Youth.” This performance was targeted at students from poor families, and included singing and dancing, instrument music performance, acrobatics, calligraphy. Performers from the Beijing Spiritual Sound Art Troupe of the Handicapped expressed their passion for art and life, and the performer used his mouth to write “天道酬勤” (meaning “God helps those who help themselves” in English) with the writing brush. His unyielding spirit spread the positive energy of living and writing wholeheartedly.

On November 23, the Guangzhou Municipal Acrobatics Art Theater provided the performance themed on “Colorful Seasons: 2018 Cultural Series Activities for Public Good—Guangzhou Acrobatics Gala”.  It caused a great sensation in our school. The acrobatics, including females’ jujitsu, hand acrobatics, walking on steel wire, diabolo, balancing on a single hand, suspension, ball techniques, men’s strength, which could only be seen on TV were introduced to our platform the first time. In the program, “Young Hero: Walking on Soft Steel Wire,” the performer walked on the swinging soft steel wire to finish highly-difficult techniques, including “walking on two hands,” “balancing on a single hand,” “driving wheelbarrow by two arms,” “standing upside down by one stick,” and “forward somersault in the air,” and so on. All these performances fully changed ordinary people’s perception of balance, which was heart-gripping and amazing to every audience. During the whole performance process, audiences once held their breath and cheered now and then, fully indulged in the performance.

On December 7, “Your Name: I Love You, China” concert was the concert series organized by the Guangdong Provincial Education Bureau in an effort of introducing high-grade art to campus in 2018. It was also friendship cooperation between our school and Guangdong Industry University. On the performance site, Chen Lei, Secretary of our school’s Youth League Committee and Dean of Guangdong Industry University General Education Center, addressed the evening party. Apart from the synonym of Guangdong Industry University, our campus teachers and art troupe also cooperated with the band to perform The Most Shiny Star in the Night Sky and I Love you, China. When the conductor put down the baton, bowing to audiences, after the last melody was finished, audiences stood up to give a warm applaud, marking a successful end of the whole concert. The whole concert provided an opportunity for our school’s teachers and students to experience the infinite charm of the symphony. They fully experienced the power of art for the baptism of their soul.
One student from the Foreign Languages School said, “Every performance is shocking. I am grateful to our school’s Youth League Committee to invite so many art troupes to our school, allowing us to experience the charm of art after a busy learning schedule. I am already looking forward to next year’s performance. ”
