Teams from Guangzhou City University of Technology (GCUT) outshines in various competitions held recently with fruitful results.

2024 China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling (Guangdong Division)

On October 2, the awarded list of the 2024 China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling (Guangdong Division) was announced. Supported by the GCUT Youth League Committee and guided by the School of Computer Engineering & Big Data, teams of mathematical modeling from GCUT won 2 first prizes, 11 second prizes, 24 third prizes as well as 24 excellence awards in total with their outstanding performance and innovative solutions, making a breakthrough in the number of award-winning in the contest. A team guided by Hu Xindan was recommended as a second prize for its national contest due to their excellent mathematical modeling, whose member includes Huang Jialin, Ding Meiyu and Cao Hanyu.

Formula Student Korea 2024

Formula Student Korea 2024 was held in the testing field of Korea Electric Vehicle Research Center in Korea from September 27 to 29. FSCC-HuaQi Vehicle Team participated in national competition for the first time, who won the Best Team Award with its outstanding performance and teamwork spirits. It not only demonstrates that they have made a breakthrough in technologies, but also makes their efforts and persistence worthwhile. Moreover, the award helps to motivate the team members to move forward in national and international competitions in the future.

The 9th Seminar on Micro Services of Library

The 9th Seminar on Micro Services of Library was jointly held by the Shanghai Library Society and the National Library and Information Studies Professional Degree Graduate Education Steering Committee in the Shanghai Library East from September 23 to 24. The presentation of certificates took place during the seminar, which includes the cases collected in the early stage that are awarded as outstanding cases of innovative promotion services of reading in libraries. The innovation promotion case recommended by the library of GCUT, Audible Reading, is included in the outstanding cases, which presents the recognition of its innovation as well as its profound social values.

The 8th Guangdong Environment Design Competition (2023)

The School of Architecture of GCUT received all certificates of the 8th Guangdong Environment Design Competition (2023) sent by the Guangdong Environment Design Association, including the Best Organizer in the group of universities, 1 Gold Award, 4 Bronze Awards, 12 Recognition Awards while the Outstanding Instructor awarded to 10 of its teachers.

The 4th ICAD International Contemporary Youth Art Design Competition (2024) and 2024 Singapore Art Design Competition

Teams from the School of Mechanical Engineering & Robotics Engineering of GCUT were awarded in the 4th ICAD International Contemporary Youth Art Design Competition (2024) and 2024 Singapore Art Design Competition on September 20.

In the 4th ICAD International Contemporary Youth Art Design Competition (2024), works of GCUT teams cover various fields, including logo design, cultural and creative design and visual communication design, featuring innovative design principles as well as reaching international standards of practicality and aesthetics. The works, Packaging of Floral Series of Dasha Honey, Camgui: Packaging Design of Wuguishan Honey in Zhongshan City, and Tide Synergy: Visual Design of the Country B&B in Haining City presented by four students including Huang Jia, Li Yiting, Chen Shiyun and Luo Linkai and guided by two teachers including Xu Zili and Yang Ling won Bronze Awards.

In the 2024 Singapore Art Design Competition, students’ works also won recognition in the international competition, which reveals profound culture and keen insights to the trend of modern design. They won 1 Silver Award, 1 Bronze Award and 1 Recognition Award while two instructors won the Outstanding Instructor Award.

The 10th Oriental Design Award · National University Innovation Design Competition

A team for academic competitions formed by teachers and students from the industrial design major of the School of Mechanical Engineering & Robotics Engineering of GCUT won 2 provincial second prizes and 2 provincial third prizes in the 10th Oriental Design Award · National University Innovation Design Competition on September 18th.

Award Dragon Star · The 5th National College Green Design Competition

The team for academic competitions formed by teachers and students from the industrial design major of the School of Mechanical Engineering & Robotics Engineering of GCUT won the Bronze Award and Finalist respectively issued by Beijing Green Design Promotion Association in the Award Dragon Star · The 5th National College Green Design Competition, fully demonstrating GCUT’s strength in design education. The competition was jointly hosted by Beijing Green Design Promotion Association and Hebei University of Science and Technology and supported by the Ministry of Education of the People' s Republic of China and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China.
